WEAVING INNOVATIONS
Live Weaving Demonstration & Community Basket with Stephanie Craig

Thursday & Friday
Stephanie demonstrates traditional basket weaving and shares informal talks on TEK, traditional lifeways, and tribal culture. Stop by the display of traditional food and medicinal plants, basketry belongings, tools, and raw materials.

WEAVING INNOVATION TOGETHER

Every attendee is invited to contribute a strand—ribbon, cedar, or any material you like—to a large communal weaving. Each piece represents your own experience, cultural knowledge, STEM journey, or hope for the future. Woven together, they become one tapestry: a visual record of the strength that comes from Indigenous knowledge and STEM working side by side.

How to Join In

1. Pick up a strand of ribbon, cedar, or another material—or bring your own.

2. Write a reflection, wish, or words of wisdom right on your strand.

3. Weave it into the growing piece, joining thousands of others.

Bringing Your Own Material?: Cut it into a strand 1″–3″ wide and 4″–24″ long, so it weaves in easily with everyone else’s. Materials are also provided on site all week—students, professionals, educators, Elders, and partners are all welcome, any time.
